Description:
Applications of physics can be found in all the machines and inventions of our technological society. This course provides an understanding of the laws and concepts of physics that are used to describe what goes on around us.

Topics covered include physical quantities and units, measurement, forces, pressure, work, energy, motion, power, electricity, gas laws, heat, light, optics, electromagnetism and wave motions. Experimental work will also be done during the course.

Assessment is by assignments and practicals, mid-course test and a final examination.

Prerequisite(s): At least a C grade in English 1 and Mathematics 1.
